Cushion foundations are all the rage at the moment. Higher end companies like MAC and Lancôme have recently brought out versions, but I didn’t want to leap in at the higher end for something that could just be a fad. I waited in anticipation for the L’Oreal Nude Magique Cushion to be released in the UK,and when I saw it on Saturday I purchased straight away.
I am a bit of a foundation junkie and like different levels of coverage and finish. Coming into summer I often like a lighter coverage foundation, so thought the L’Oreal Nude Magique Cushion would fit.
In order for the foundation to be held in the sponge it has to be a very thin consistency, which I really like. I used a flat top buffing brush to apply and this produced a nice even coverage. The coverage is light, with a natural finish giving just a hint of dewiness. I was able to build it up somewhat, but the coverage is still fairly light.
I have used for 3 days in warm weather and have been pleasantly surprised at how well it lasted. Now I’m not talking Estée Lauder Double Wear or Lancôme Teint Idol Ultra, but for a light coverage foundation it lasted pretty well. It also wore off evenly, without the horrible patchiness that some foundations break down into.
So yes, I like this! I am, however interested to see how long the compact lasts. I am also using it with a clean brush every time I use it, to try and keep the product as sanitary as possible. I wanted a light foundation that wears well, and with L’Oreal Nude Magique Cushion I got it. If you like a full coverage foundation then this won’t be for you. I’m wearing this over factor 50 sun cream, and this may be my perfect foundation for summer (until the next one comes along!)
