Purchasing make-up, and shopping for make-up are one of my favourite pastimes. Finding a bargain is such a joy! Nowadays we are lucky that a number of new, budget friendly brands have popped up. Makeup Revolution provide make-up lovers with an opportunity to purchase a vast plethora of make-up products, all for a low cost.
Now I’m going to have a little moan! Shopping for make-up should be a pleasure, but over the past couple of years I’ve noticed a upsetting trend when purchasing make-up in Superdrug and Boots. Drum roll please, ta-dah, I hate seeing all the picked over make-up displays. When buying make-up I should not have to scramble through messy, unkempt displays. Tidying displays should be part and parcel of what happens in a store every day. Please, please I am pleading shops to tidy their make-up section on a regular basis. You will get more paying customers! Rant over!
Back to Makeup Revolution, this is stocked in Superdrug for the UK. Usually I purchase Makeup Revolution online, as they have a greater variety of stock. However, when shopping in Superdrug recently I was pleased to see that there were a few new items that I liked the look of.
Blush Palette Blush Goddess.
I was so excited to see the Makeup Revolution Blush Palette Blush Goddess, as I have enjoyed Makeup Revolution blushes in the past. Providing 4 blushes, covering pink, peach, and neutral shades, along with 4 highlighters. The blushes are pigmented and blend well. The highlighters are providing a fairly subtle glow without being too overly sparkly, complementing the blushes well. Staying power, however is not the greatest. this might be my skin, but after wearing these for 6 hours I cant see any trace of the product. In conclusion, for the low price of £6.00 you are getting a product that is blending and sitting well on the skin. While the wear time might bother some, I am more than happy with this purchase.
Ultra 32 Eyeshadow Palette Flawless 2
Makeup Revolution are making a huge number of eyeshadow palettes, of which I own a large number. The collector in me enjoys these products. Mixing shimmer and matte shadows, the Flawless 2 has 32 shadows. having both swatched these products and using on the eyes, I have found this palette to be somewhat disappointing. Blending some of the mattes was extremely difficult, and unfortunately many of the shadows looked the same on the eyes. Pigmentation was hit and miss, especially when looking at the lighter shadows.
Highlighter Palette Highlight.
What can I say, disappointing, disappointing, disappointing. With 3 shades, this palette should be providing me with shiny, highlighting joy. Unfortunately pigmentation is poor, which a chunky texture.
