Urban decay have made a bold statement with this product by giving it the name Naked Skin One & Done. So does the product itself live up to its name?
Let’s have a look at what Urban Decay One & Done say it does. First off “instantly blur imperfections and even out skin tone “. Yes this dos somewhat blur pores and other imperfection, however I found the coverage to be so sheer that in areas of high pigmentation (I have freckles) I couldn’t see any difference. So One & Done is also supposed to “combines the benefits of a sheer foundation with the coverage of a tinted moisturiser”. The coverage is at best a tinted moisturiser, however the finish is more matte foundation like.
As a product Urban Decay state that One &Done is supposed to last all day. This I did not find at all when wearing on its own. After a couple of hours the product began to look very patchy and even more visible around areas of dry skin.
As far as shade range goes, there are 6 shades. I picked the lightest due to my fair skin, but still found this a little dark. It may be that the colours are particularly yellow and my skin has a cool undertone. However I could still make this work when bronzer and blush were added.
One of the big claims that Urban Decay are making is that this product has skin care benefits. I have used One & Done for 3 weeks and there does not seems to be any improvement in pore size, firmness and radiance. However maybe it needs more time?
How have I used Urban Decay One & Done?
I’ve used One & Done in a few different ways. Initially I tried it on its own, but as I’ve said above, it didn’t last very long I my skin. I then used this with powder foundation (Laura Geller Balance and Brighten). This provided a nice amount of coverage and my make up did stay in place all day. I also tries this as a primer for liquid foundations and found it to work well, letting the foundation apply smoothly.
So what do I think of Urban Decay One & Done?
In essence it reminds me very much of the Stila 10 in 1 Beauty Balm, but I’ll be honest and say that I do prefer the Stila product as it really makes my foundation beautiful. That being said, if you already have fairly flawless skin them I can see how you would really enjoy this product. One & Done for me doesn’t quite provide the amount of coverage I would like, but to be fair neither does it claim to. It is, however a nice primer!
